The Middle Fork is a story of trees and valleys, sons and daughters, life lived and a search for significance.
A very personal narrative of how special life can be.
This is the story of why the author went into the Middle Fork, the search for big trees, and a family coming of age. Anyone who has a family and has ever walked into the wilderness will certainly relate to the power of the forest to point us towards that which is significant.
A book on being a father, wilderness adventures, and a closer look at life all wrapped up in one. It is a rich mix of subjects and genres, much like life in the Pacific Northwest.
A Washington State native, Brad Allen grew up hunting and camping in the Cascade Mountains. Brad, his wife Ann, and their three kids have spent countless weekends and vacations hiking and camping throughout the West. They have lived for the past seventeen years in a house east of Redmond tucked among the cedar trees. An engineer and artist at heart, Brad works as a manager for a major manufacturer of construction equipment.
