Hike to the Old Growth in Seward Park and See the Tallest Tree in Seattle

Seward Park

Seward Park

Location: Seattle/Lake Washington

Total distance, round trip: 1-2 miles

Season: year-round

The Northern two thirds of Seward Park is known as the "Magnificent Forest". It is well worth the trip any time of year. Although definitely not a giant, the heritage Douglas fir is one big tree and easy to see for the city-bound day.

The map below should help you find the tree. It is usually adorned with all sorts of junk people hang on it. What is wrong with them? Is a tree not best while adorned simply in its own beauty?
